In this privacy statement, we outline how we handle your personal information collected in connection with the Social Investment Agency’s online application Portal.
We collect personal information from you as part of the Social Investment Fund’s application and funding process, including:
This information may include contact details (such as your name, main contact job title, business email address and phone number).
We may also collect personal information about you from third parties (such as government departments or agencies and other organisations) as part of the due diligence we do for the Social Investment Fund’s application and funding process.
If your application is successful, we also collect personal information from you in the course of administering the funding we provide.
We collect and use that personal information to:
a. determine and evaluate your application;
b. administer, inform and report on the activities of the Social Investment Fund, and support the performance of the Social Investment Agency’s social sector stewardship role;
c. if your application is successful:
i. pay out funding;
ii. administer the funding, which may include enforcing our rights under the funding terms and conditions;
iii. publicise your involvement with the Social Investment Agency (for example, on our website, or in published reports);
d. keep a record of who is involved in the application process;
e. comply with laws.
If you don’t provide this information, your organisation may not be able to proceed further in the application and funding process.
We may provide your personal information to our personnel, advisors, agents, third party service providers, and in some cases to other government departments or agencies, or other organisations, where we believe this is appropriate to help us with any of the purposes outlined above. We will take reasonable steps to ensure our personnel, advisors, agents and any other third parties receive that information on a confidential basis and do not use that information for any other purpose.
If your application is successful, we may publicise your involvement with the Social Investment Fund by sharing the applicant organisation’s name and location, and details about the project or initiative being funded.
This information may be shared with the individuals or organisations who read our reports, or visit our website.
We can release personal information in other ways permitted by the Privacy Act 2020 or the Official Information Act 1982, for example, for legal compliance and/or law enforcement purposes. Your information may constitute public records and be retained at least to the extent required by the Public Records Act 2005.
Your personal information will be stored in accordance with our obligations under the Privacy Act 2020, and we will take reasonable steps to ensure the security of your personal information.

If you provide us with personal information about someone else in connection with the application or funding process, you must ensure you have their permission to disclose that information to us, and you must ensure they have seen this privacy statement.
This Portal generates persistent session cookies (that is, they have an expiry date and are removed on that date) for the purpose of monitoring site usage. The cookies do not collect personal information. You can disable them or clear them out of your web browser without affecting your ability to use the site.
