Social Investment Fund to change the way we commission

Published
Social Investment Minister Hon Nicola Willis has announced funding through Budget 2025 to establish the Social Investment Fund as a new way to commission across portfolios, strengthen existing arrangements, and directly invest in the future of New Zealanders who are most in need.

We will use the Social Investment Fund to catalyse the change we need – to demonstrate the social investment approach  and to support social sector organisations to understand their reach and impact and work together for the communities they serve.

Social Investment Fund Ministers will set the priority outcomes for the Fund, following which we will open for proposals that align with these at the end of August 2025, and again in November 2025.
