Working together to break through the barriers
Me mahitahi kia turaki i ngā tauarai
More than 170 people attended the fourth Data Hui, which was co-hosted by the Data Futures Partnership, the Social Investment Unit (SIU) and Statistics New Zealand – in association with the Minister of Finance, Minister of Statistics and the Iwi Leaders Group on Data.
About the hui
People depend on the development of smart tools and responsible access to data, so decision-makers can make better decisions, to improve their lives.
The fourth Data Hui built on learnings from the preceding three Data Hui. These shared insights are essential to maintaining accountability, effective communication and momentum. During this interactive, one-day event, participants found out what’s new, what’s being delivered and continued to challenge current thinking.
The programme included:
- Opening and Keynote addresses by leading Social Investment and Data Ministers, Hon Bill English and Hon Craig Foss.
- Insights into ‘partnering’ approaches to remove and unlock barriers that impede progress in data access and sharing.
- Social investment update, including the Data Exchange.
- Launch of the Data Futures Partnership(external link) nationwide Social Licence conversation, including the opportunity to be involved in the co-design of the approach.
